Taxonomy
Gazimuria scutellata was named by Popov (1971). Its type specimen is PIN 1328/4, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Gazimur (PIN collection 1328), which is in a Tithonian terrestrial horizon in the Akatuevskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
