Paruroctea blauvelti was named by Petrunkevitch (1942). It is not extant. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Cornell collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Mizalia blauvelti by Dunlop et al. (2013).
