Palaeolinyphia flagellifera was named by Wunderlich (1986). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (GPIH collection), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
It was recombined as Selenyphantes flagellifera by Dunlop et al. (2013).
