Genaphis valdensis
Taxonomy
Aphis valdensis was named by Brodie (1845). Its type specimen is BMNH I.3522, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dinton, Vale of Wardour, Middle Purbeck, which is in a Berriasian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Genaphis.
It was recombined as Genaphis valdensis by Handlirsch (1907), Evans (1956), Heie and Wegierek (2011), Żyła et al. (2014).
