Taxonomy
Eoliarus quadristictus was named by Cockerell (1925). Its type specimen is USNM 69615, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Trail Gulch, north side of Roan Creek, which is in a Bridgerian lacustrine - large diatomite in the Green River Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Eoliarus.
