Taxonomy
Copidopus jurassicus was named by Handlirsch (1906). Its type specimen is NMW 1985/5, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Eichstätt, Solnhofen (Naturhistorischen Museum Wien collection), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.
