Taxonomy
Synorthophlebia vicina was named by Handlirsch (1939). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dobbertin, Mecklenburg (Greifswald collection), which is in a Toarcian offshore claystone in Germany.
It was recombined as Mesopanorpa vicina by Martynova (1948), Willmann (1978); it was recombined as Orthophlebia vicina by Willmann (1984).
