Mesephemera procera

Taxonomy
Ephemera procera was named by Hagen (1862). Its type specimen is MCZ 6280ab, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Solnhofen (MCZ coll), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.

It was synonymized subjectively with Mesephemera lithophila by Demoulin (1955); it was recombined as Mesephemera procera by Handlirsch (1906), Carpenter (1932), Ponomarenko (1985).
