Elytridium angelini was named by Heer (1878). It is an impression. Its type locality is Kulla Gunnarstorp, which is in a Hettangian terrestrial sandstone in the Höör Formation of Sweden.
It was recombined as Angelinella angelini by Handlirsch (1906).
