Taxonomy
Brachypremna eocenica was named by Meunier (1906). Its type specimen is Konigsberg 7910, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Konigsberg collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Tipula eocenica by Alexander (1931), Krzemiński (1996).
