Palaeognoriste affinis was named by Meunier (1912). Its type specimen is G1848, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Konigsberg collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
