Taxonomy

Archilachnus pennatus was named by Buckton (1883). Its type specimen is 177, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (MCZ Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

It was recombined as Siphonophoroides pennata by Heie and Wegierek (2011); it was recombined as Siphonophoroides pennatus by Heie (1967), Favret (2012).

Cataneura absens was named by Scudder (1890). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (MCZ Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

It was synonymized subjectively with Siphonophoroides pennata by Heie and Wegierek (2011); it was synonymized subjectively with Siphonophoroides pennatus by Heie (1967), Favret (2012).
