Taxonomy
Neoliomopterum picturatum was named by Riek (1976). Its type specimen is NM 910, a forewing (middle section of forewing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Emakwezini (Ema 111), which is in a Changhsingian delta plain shale in the Estcourt Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Neoliomopterum.
