Taxonomy
Kukalova americana was named by Demoulin (1970). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Midco Locality 15, which is in an Artinskian lacustrine lime mudstone in the Wellington Formation of Oklahoma. It is the type species of Kukalova.
It was recombined as Protereisma americana by Carpenter (1979).
