It was corrected as Georyssus by Haupt (1956); it was misspelled as Georyssus by Hopkins et al. (1971), Bouchard et al. (2011).

It was assigned to Georyssidae by Haupt (1956); to Coleoptera by Hopkins et al. (1971); and to Georissinae by Bouchard et al. (2011).
