Taxonomy
Pachytylopsis borinensis was named by de Borre (1875). It is an impression. Its type locality is Belle et Bonne colliery, Jemappes, which is in a Westphalian C terrestrial siliciclastic in the Flénu Formation of Belgium.

It was recombined as Breyeria borinensis by de Borre (1875), Scudder (1885), Scudder (1885), Brongniart (1894), Handlirsch (1904), Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1919), Handlirsch (1922), Pruvost (1930), Laurentiaux (1953), Brauckmann (1995), Brauckmann and Herd (2000).
