Schistomerus californense
Taxonomy
Schistomerus californense was named by Palmer (1957). Its type specimen is USNM 561989, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Cenozoic 19057, Mule Canyon, Calico Hills, which is in a Hemingfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Barstow Formation of California. It is the type species of Schistomerus.
