Taxonomy
Bittacus egestionis was named by Carpenter (1955). Its type specimen is MCZ 4921, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Evacuation Creek, Watson, which is in a Bridgerian lacustrine - large shale in the Evacuation Creek Formation of Utah.
