Siphonophoroides simplex

Taxonomy

Siphonophoroides simplex was named by Buckton (1883). Its type specimen is 519, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (MCZ Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

It was recombined as Tephraphis simplex by Scudder (1890), Scudder (1894).

Synonyms

Tephraphis walshii was named by Scudder (1890). Its type specimen is 8085, a wing (four overlapping wings poorly preserved), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (MCZ Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

It was synonymized subjectively with Siphonophoroides simplex by Heie (1967), Heie and Wegierek (2011).
Aphidopsis emaciata was named by Scudder (1890). Its type specimen is 6405, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant, uppermost layers (MCZ Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

It was synonymized subjectively with Siphonophoroides simplex by Heie (1967), Heie and Wegierek (2011).
