Taxonomy
Opsimasaphus was named by Kielan (1960) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llde-l O Ashg-m Sepkoski's reference number: 1075]. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Birmanites by Zhou and Dean (1986), Jell and Adrain (2002).

It was assigned to Nobiliasaphinae by Pålsson (1995); and to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002).
