Haniwoides was named by Kobayashi (1953) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Fran-u Sepkoski's reference number: 16]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ceratopygidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
