Taxonomy

Palaeomantopsis was named by Martynov (1928). Its type is Palaeomantopsis furcatella.

It was assigned to Miomoptera by Martynov (1928); to Protorthoptera by Carpenter (1992); and to Permosialidae by Aristov and Rasnitsyn (2023), Aristov and Rasnitsyn (2024).
