Terranovia was named by Maksimova (1977) [Sepkoski's age data: D Gedi-l D Eife-l Sepkoski's reference number: 421,774]. It is not extant. Its type is Terranovia nalivkini.
It was assigned to Trochurinae by Thomas and Holloway (1988); to Lichidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Lichida by Sepkoski (2002).
