Taxonomy
Mesoblattopsis franconica was named by Geyer and Kleber (1987). Its type specimen is SMF 44108, a wing (missing anal region & apex), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Hwy 13 at am Wolfgangsberg near Ochsenfurt, which is in a Carnian lacustrine delta plain claystone/sandstone in Germany.
