Taxonomy
Bethylonymus magnus was named by Rasnitsyn (1975). Its type specimen is PIN 2997/4144, an exoskeleton (female), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Karatau-Mikhailovka (PIN collection 2997), which is in a Kimmeridgian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Karabastau Formation of Kazakhstan.
