Arambourgia was named by de Stefano (1905). It is not extant. Its type is Alligator gaudryi.
It was assigned to Alligatorinae by Brochu (1999), Jouve et al. (2008), Martin and Lauprasert (2010); to Globidonta by Farke et al. (2014), Rio and Mannion (2021); and to Alligatorinae by Conedera et al. (2023).
