Phobosuchus riograndensis
Taxonomy
Phobosuchus riograndensis was named by Colbert and Bird (1954). Its type specimen is AMNH 3073, a partial skeleton (Partial premaxillae, maxillae, mandibles, dorsal vertebra, scapula, partial ilium, scutes), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East of Fresno Creek, which is in a Campanian/Campanian floodplain claystone in the Aguja Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Deinosuchus riograndensis by Colbert and Baird (1954), Lucas et al. (2006), Rivera-Sylva et al. (2011), Carbot-Chanona (2014), Farke et al. (2014), Cossette and Brochu (2020).
