Balcoracania was named by Pocock (1970) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tojo-l Sepkoski's reference number: 472]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Redlichiida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Emuellidae by Whittington et al. (1997), Paterson and Edgecombe (2006).
