Taxonomy
Daohugocorixa vulcanica was named by Zhang (2010). Its type specimen is NIGPAS DHG07910, an exoskeleton (complete beetle), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Daohugou (NIGP collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China. It is the type species of Daohugocorixa.
