Taxonomy
Locustopsis karatavica was named by Sharov (1968). Its type specimen is PIN 2239/394, a forewing (forewing without anal region), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Karatau-Mikhailovka (PIN collection 2239), which is in a Kimmeridgian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Karabastau Formation of Kazakhstan.
