Taxonomy
Permopsylla permiana was named by Carpenter (1931). Its type specimen is MCZ 3129, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Elmo, MCZ 1927 collection, which is in an Artinskian pond limestone in the Wellington Formation of Kansas.
