Jablonia was named by Kukalová (1964). It is the type genus of Jabloniidae.
It was assigned to Jabloniidae by Carpenter (1992), Storozhenko (1997), Storozhenko (1998); and to Camptoneuritidae by Aristov et al. (2010).
