Taxonomy
Hypocixius oblitescens was named by Cockerell (1926). It is an impression. Its type locality is Station 2; Sunchal, which is in a Paleocene lacustrine - small mudstone/limestone in the Margas Verdes Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Hypocixius.
