Taxonomy
Gryllus vociferans was named by Cockerell (1925). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type locality is Station 2; Sunchal, which is in a Paleocene lacustrine - small mudstone/limestone in the Margas Verdes Formation of Argentina.
