Acherontemys heckmani
Taxonomy
Acherontemys heckmani was named by Hay (1899). Its type specimen is USNM 4123, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Northwestern Improvement Company No. 4 Mine, which is in an Eocene lacustrine sandstone in the Roslyn Formation of Washington. It is the type species of Acherontemys.
