Taxonomy
Latibasalia quispeae was named by Petrulevičius and Nel (2004). Its type specimen is MLP 29423, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is El Fuerte, which is in a Paleocene lacustrine - small shale in the Maíz Gordo Formation of Argentina.
