Cargninia enigmatica
Taxonomy
Cargninia enigmatica was named by Bonaparte et al. (2010). Its type specimen is UFRGS-PV-1027-T, a mandible (Partial dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Faxinal do Soturno, Linha São Luiz, which is in a Norian fluvial siltstone/sandstone in the Caturrita Formation of Brazil. It is the type species of Cargninia.
