Taxonomy
Senobasis borealis was named by James (1939). Its type specimen is Museum of Comparative Zoology No. 4498, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (MCZ Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.
It was recombined as Senoprosopis (Eosenoprosopis) borealis by Hull (1962); it was recombined as Blepharepium borealis by Papavero and Bernardi (1973).
