Taxonomy
Proerrhomus rugosus was named by Hamilton (1990). Its type specimen is AMNH 43612, an exoskeleton (female), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Crato (AMNH collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
