Taxonomy
Niobella kanauguki was named by Ross (1965) [Paratypes: USNM 144237-42.]. Its type specimen is USNM 144236, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lost River USGS D1067 CO, which is in an Ordovician carbonate limestone in Alaska.
