Meganeurula selysii
Taxonomy
Meganeura selysii was named by Brongniart (1894). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R52939, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Commentry (MNHN Brongniart coll), which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic shale in the Commentry Shales Formation of France.
It was corrected as Meganeura selysi by Lameere (1917); it was recombined as Meganeurula selysii by Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1922), Carpenter (1943), Brauckmann and Zessin (1989), Nel et al. (2018).
