Taxonomy
Curculionites prodromus was named by Heer (1853). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Vaduz, which is in a Carnian terrestrial horizon in the Keuper Formation of Liechtenstein.
It was recombined as Pseudocurculionites prodromus by Handlirsch (1906).
