Taxonomy
Prohungarites submiddlemissi was named by Guex (1978). Its type specimen is Mus. Hist. Nat. Geneva G-P 51, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nammal Gorge, Bed 26, Salt Range, which is in a Spathian marine limestone in the Mianwali Formation of Pakistan.
