Taxonomy
Modiomorpha ornatissima was named by Johnston (1887) [Holotype lost]. It is a mold. Its type locality is Porter's Hill (Johnston coll), which is in a Sakmarian marine siliciclastic in the Bundella Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Volsellina ornatissima by Waterhouse (1987).
