Thaisaurus was named by Mazin et al. (1991). It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ichthyosauria by Maisch and Matzke (2000); to Ichthyopterygia by McGowan and Motani (2003); and to Thaisauridae by Maisch (2010).

Matzke 2000Small ichthyosaur with delicate snout, conical, pointed teeth with smooth crowns, postfrontal excluded from the temporal fenestra, postorbital with long posterior lamina, foramen parietale between frontal and parietal, humerus, femur and zeugopodial elements extremely elongate and slender, humerus lacks lamina anterior.
