Taxonomy
Arcavicula was named by Cox (1964) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi-u Tr Carn Sepkoski's reference number: 94,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Avicula arcuata.

It was assigned to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pteriidae by Vokes (1980) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
