Taxonomy
Aguilerella was named by Chavan (1951) [Sepkoski's age data: J Plie-u J Oxfo-u Sepkoski's reference number: 749,791]. It is not extant. Its type is Perna kobyi.

It was assigned to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Bakevelliidae by Vokes (1980), Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
