Mesaulacinus was named by Martynov (1925). It is not extant. Its type is Mesaulacinus oviformis.
It was assigned to Aulacinae by Martynov (1925); to Megalyridae by Carpenter (1992); and to Cleistogastrinae by Rasnitsyn (1975), Ren (1995).
