Longipteryx chaoyangensis
Taxonomy
Longipteryx chaoyangensis was named by Zhang et al. (2000). Its type specimen is IVPP V12325, a skeleton (nearly complete articulated skeleton with feather impressions), and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Qidaoquanzi, which is in an Aptian lacustrine siliciclastic in the Jiufotang Formation of China. It is the type species of Longipteryx.
