Taxonomy
Turrilites helicinus was named by Shumard (1861) [DISTRIBUTION: Campanian; Western Interior.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Nostoceras helicinum by Howarth (1965); it was recombined as Nostoceras helicinus by Kennedy et al. (2000); it was recombined as Nostoceras (Nostoceras) helicinum by Kennedy and Cobban (1993) and Küchler and Odin (2001).
